There are many threats facing the player in Rune Factory 5, including typhoons, romantic rejection, and even the common cold. Like many RPGs, Rune Factory features debuffs and afflictions that can seriously jeopardize battles and everyday chores. There are five status conditions in the game: Poison, Paralyze, Seal, Fatigue, and Cold.
Unfortunately, dealing with these ailments can be tricky early on in the game. Players will have limited access to crops that are crucial for making medicine, and Rigbarth's clinic will only carry status ailment cures for Paralysis and Seal until it's been expanded. Luckily, these status effects can be cured using other methods or avoided entirely.

Poison
As in most RPGs, the Poison status effect inflicts damage over time. Enemies like Mushrooms, Spiders and Hornets can inflict poison, but eating something inedible can do this, too. Withered Grass, Object X, Failed Dishes, Disastrous Dishes and Mysterious Mushrooms can all poison the player, their monsters, or NPCs.
If Antidote Potions aren't available, Antidote Grass is the next best thing. It grows pretty much everywhere in Norad, including right outside the player's home, and it happens to spawn in most areas with poisonous monsters, so it's not hard to find some on the go.
Paralyze
Paralysis won't leave characters totally immobile, but it will slow their movement speed to a crawl. This can be deadly in battle, and it's a huge inconvenience in a game where the clock is always ticking. Various types of Mushrooms, Spiders, and Hornets can inflict Paralysis, so it's wise to always keep some cures on hand.

Para-Gone will cure paralysis, and it's one of the two status ailment cures that Rigbarth Clinic has in stock from the beginning. It costs 900G from the clinic, but it can also be found in treasure chests. Players may also receive Para-Gone as a reward for completing requests for townspeople.
Seal
Characters suffering from the Seal status effect are unable to use Rune Abilities, Spells, and Specials. This functions like the Silence status effect in other RPGs, preventing characters from casting spells. As always, be wary of Mushrooms, Spiders, and Hornets, as well as inedible food.
Seal can be cured using Roundoff, a medicine sold by Rigbarth Clinic for 800G. The clinic stocks this medicine from the beginning, along with the basic healing potion and Para-Gone. Roundoffs are a common reward for completing requests and might drop from random treasure chests.

Fatigue
Fatigued characters will eventually collapse without rest or some sort of treatment. This can cost players a hefty sum of gold if they need to be taken to Rigbarth Clinic. The player character will become fatigued if they skip out on sleeping, so getting to bed by 1AM is the best preventative.
While there is no medicine for specifically treating Fatigue, players have several options should they need a cure. Fatigue can be cured with a dip in the hot springs at the Blue Moon Inn or going to bed early. Toyherb flowers will also cure fatigue, and players can find them (or their seeds) in the hidden object spot outside of the flower shop. Walk over to the flower beds to the left of the flower shop entrance with the Foresight Crest equipped or watch for a treasure chest icon next to any party members' status bars.

Cold
Catching a Cold in Rune Factory 5 will deplete a character's RP over time. Characters catch a Cold if they go too long without sleep. It is also possible to get sick from eating a Mystery Mushroom. On the bright side, there is an in-game achievement for players catching a cold for the first time.
To buy Cold Medcine players will need the first expansion for the Rigbarth Clinic. After that, Simone will sell it for 1,000G. Alternatively, players can cook some Rice Porridge, which only requires rice and a pot. Rice can be purchased from Serendipity, and kitchen equipment can be bought from Studio Palmo.
